Bedroom not huge, but has everything you could need, quite a small hotel, has lovely intimate feel, close to Covent Garden, West End etc. Would reccomend.
My stay (3 nights) at the Montague was excellent. The location is very convenient if you are interested in the British Museum - its like a 3 minute walk to the front entrace. The Holborn and Russel Square tube stations on the Piccadilly lines are very close, and it was a leisurely walk into Soho, to Trafalgar Square, and The Mall. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to help. The room was very small, but it was clean, well designed, nice looking, and well stocked. The room service was very good and efficient. Its not cheap, but I think its well worth it for a safe, clean, hotel with a staff that wants to pamper you. I highly recommend it.
I can`t recommend the Montague highly enough. I would definately book again. Peaceful, despite central location, and lavish enough to feel like a boutique hotel. Fabulous service all round from concierge to room service. Beautiful rooms and bar, conservatory and outdoor bar area. Perfect for treating yourself or someone else!
I boooked this for myself and two teenage daughters (triple room) and we were delighted with this hotel. Room was lovely with plenty of space overlooking the gardens, it was very quiet. The bathroom was spotless and well equiped. The staff were and service were excellent, we could not have asked for more. We would have liked to stay longer!
Staff at The Montague are charming, extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms sumptuous and decor beautiful. It may be a little expensive but if you want that really special short break, The Montague is certainly the hotel - it ticks all the boxes.
We had room 225. Yes it was very comfortable but we had to synchronise our movements to avoid colliding. That said we will certainly be going back. The quality of the service, food and all the things that make a hotel stay special were first class. Well done Montague!!
Excellent friendly and welcoming team, they really made our visit complete, Breakfast was brilliant and the location wa perfect - 8 mins walk from the Westend - This is our 1st choice hotel when we head back to the capital.
Despite the initial problem with the booking system we enjoyed our stay at the Montague. The hotel was clean and peaceful. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The view of the gardens from our room was a pleasant surprise.
Nothing was too much trouble. the service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The hotel was absolutely immaculate and I cannot fault a single thing
To continue from above comment, the room was no larger than some caravanne bedrooms and, despite the lovely furnishings, was a great disappointment especially as we were shown to the twin bedroom we had booked for my mother and daughter first, no. 47. We assumed that our room would be of similar standard so to find a room you could not even sit in ( no chairs as no room) and with only a shower, no bath ,was a disappointment. The decor and service were, however very good and we would return but only to a larger room at the rear of the hotel, where we could open a window
Spent a night at the Montague recently when down to see a show. Beautiful surroundings and excellent service. Highly recommended
A warm welcome from the minute we stepped out of the taxi. All staff helpful and friendly. Food excellent. Room just refurbished and though small lacked nothing! We would definitely stay here again.
clean, quiet, comfortable, great breakfast and staff very professional and friendly. i would definitely stay again
the montague overall was an excellent choice. The hotel cannot be faulted in anyway, service, food and very comfortable. The location for exploring London was excellent
Having stayed at landmark hotels such as Langhams, and the Westbury the Montague beats them hands down. The food and service were excellent. Room service was swift and efficient. To be welcomed by name at breakfast on day two was impressive. The afternoon tea with champagne was as good as at the Ritzs, but far cheaper though the tea cups were not of their standard. Yes the standard rooms are small but this is London central everything else exceeded are expectations. Best of all no taxis as you can walk to Euston in 10 mins and Covent Gardens in 10 mins - no waiting for cabs after the theatre
Room was a lovely size and extremely comfortable. Bar, restuarant and terrace areas were very nice. Only down side found the food and drink a little expensive. Staff were very helpful. Wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.
Would recommmend this hotel in an ideal place to stay hotel very nice and staff very friendly
Found all staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. My daughter was going to a function on the Saturday night and did not have time to go to a hairdressers before flying down from Edinburgh. Told the concierge and within mins had organised an appointment with a nearby hairdressers there and then. My daughter was delighted with the results. Overall was happy with the room and the service. Would definately go back.
STAFF EXCELLANT, SERVICE EXCELLANT, ROOMS EXCELLANT, lOCATION EXCELLANT
We stayed at the Montague as a present to celebrate our 2nd aniversery and to see in the new year. On arrival we were greeted by well presented staff both on the door and reception. The room was lovely and well equipt, classy and clean. The hotel is in an ideal location and within easy walking to such attractions as the british musuem, covent garden and other central attractions. The restaurant was superb and the breakfast buffett and english breakfast were the best we`d had in a long time, with friendly staff to over see our needs. Our only complaint were the late night new years Eve party revellers returning to there cars which were parked in the street.......Besides that we would recomend the Montague to everyone. Regards Phil Reason & Ms Michelle Sartin
I asked for a non-smoking room and we were put in an old smoking room. which still smelt. I complained so they moved us eventually to a non- smoking room but there was no heating, At all! -2 degrees outside! Our bags were left in the other room waiting to be brought to us. I complained once again to find that they cant get the door open to get our bags. New years eve and i have now only one hour to get to ready. My idea of relaxing, have a glass of wine , and enjoying my expensive room whilst getting ready did not happen at all! Very upset and stressed by the time i got in a cab. The lift was out of order too. I know New Years eve is a very busy time but this was not good enough. Im not one to complain and this is the first review i have done but i feel so disappointed that i would hate for this to happen to someone else.
Positives: Staff very friendly & helpful. Rooms comfortable and recently decorated Buffet breakfast good quality. Negatives: Floorboards squeaked a lot, so you hear the room above. Mattress too soft (I know this is only my personal taste). Would recommend it, especially if you`re visiting the British Museum (which is next door).
Nothing was too much trouble whilst staying at the Montague, the staff were lovely and the room was fantastic. Look forward to stopping again.
This was our 1st visit to the Montague and found the whole experience delightful; the staff were friendly and helpful; the room was immaculate and very comfortable; the situation of the hotel was perfect for theatre, shops and museums. Would certainly stay there again
The hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the rooms tended to be on the small side to the point where we were offered breakfast in our room, however, with only one chair in the corner, felt it was unsuitable. We were also put into a smoking room which wasn`t overly pleasant. The hotel was fully booked so we were unable to change rooms. The location was fantastic, just a short walk away from theatreland and covent garden.
Enjoyable stay at the Montague Hotel. Good place to stay and exceedingly friendly and helpful staff. Be prepared for a wait at breakfast if the hotel is busy but coffee, orange juice and newspapers are available while you whet your appetite.
